This is the saddest story I have ever heard. For what is a man with no heart? What is a beast with half a soul? He is in a living hell. Eternal. Everlasting.
Johnny Westman was not always this way. He graduated college at a young age as an accountant, made plenty of money, and was engaged to the girl of his dreams. He was in all accounts, a very successful young man. Soon after the wed, they bought a house and started their lives as Mr. and Mrs. Westman.
About six months after they moved in, Johnny chacked the mail and found an unmarked envelope in the mailbox. When he opened it, he found pictures of his wife, Sarah, and himself doing random activities. He took it to the police, but there was not much they could do. Johnny changed the locks around the house and removed the wood front door and replaced it with a solid steel door. He also started keeping a bat in his bedroom.
One Sunday after Johnny and Sarah came home from a trip, they ate dinner, and went to straight to bed. About 1 a.m., Johnny woke up and wanted a glass of water. He went downstairs, turned right into the livingroom, then right again into the kitchen. He started filling a glass with water from the tap, when he was suddenly hit from behind and fell to the floor in a daze. Before Johnny could react, he had his hands zip-tied together and was gagged. He watched as the intruder walked away and heard him go upstairs. He then heard the sounds of someone struggling, and a woman screaming and cut off by someone muffling her. His heart was in his throat and his ears filled with blood. Footsteps again were coming down the stairs and the man entered the livingroom with Sarah over his shoulder motionless. The stranger’s pale grey eyes were smiling. Johnny was struggling hard against his bonds as the man walked towards the door. Johnny lay helpless on the floor. He heard the ring of steel against steel as a far foor clanged shut.

Chris, this story is wonderful. I hope it continues later? Because you left me on the edge of my seat wanting to know if Johnny ever sees Sarah again. Your story grips the reader's interest from the moment that it begins.
