1. I have done a lot of writing this quarter. My favorite pieces are probably The Cake Poem, Clang, and The Honeymoon. I enjoyed writing these because of the thought I had to put into them. I don’t like having to write on paper with a pen or pencil or anything artistic like painting so writing is how I am creative. These works were the easiest to do since I got the most freedom to play with them.
2. I don’t really read poetry outside of this class, but I did read a book called Ender’s Game. This was about a young boy who was told to fight a war sing handedly from a spaceship, directing ships and vessels to attack an alien fleet threatening the planet earth. During the book however, he thinks that the ships he controls is just a fighting exercise since he has been enrolled into a battle school for kids like that of West Point. Later in the book he finds out that the entire time he was fighting he was actually killing the aliens. At the end of the book, he finds the last alien egg in known existence. Instead of killing it and putting the ultimate stop to the aliens from ever coming back, he keeps the egg safe. It is one of the best books I have read in a long time.

3. I set up my blog by mainly just doing the minimum. I filled out my name, picked I back ground I figured looked like it fit me, and then just started writing. Some people put music on theirs and some people put lots of pictures. I figure that if they wish to listen to music and learn about me, they should add me on MySpace. If they want to look at pictures I put up, then they should add me on Facebook. If they want to read my work, then they can go to my blog. The way I came up with my name is I figured it was a new experience for me and I was in school so new school was a given. But I always hear old people say things about old school so I figured I would put both together and make it simple. I don’t really care who or when people read my blog. I don’t care if people ever read my blog. If they wish to gain knowledge, then making them read it doesn’t teach them the knowledge. If student doesn’t want to learn, a teacher cannot make them learn. Same thing for my blog. If people wish to know about my thoughts and learn about me, then they can do the work to find my blog and read it. I do not know if I will continue to use my blog. Probably not. Well, I won’t post anything if I don’t write on here anymore.
4. I hate journaling. I only put in there what I need to pass the class. I don’t care who reads it since it doesn’t matter outside of the class. I will not continue to journal. I will write about nothing.
5. I’m dead, I’m dead
Forever more
Don’t cry for me
I live in lore
This is the gold
That had been fought over
By so many.
This is the leather jacket
A nerd wore so proud
To stay warm and stay cool.
This is before the dirt
Covered his best friend.
This is before the ground
Took his oldest comrade.
7. I plan to just write when I feel like it. I figure I am the most creative and most motivated when I really want to write and not when I force myself to. Normally I get peace out of writing creatively. I enjoy getting lost in my work and making my audience feel compelled to cry by the words in my piece. Other writing I do is normally forced and therefore more mechanical, lacking the feeling and texture of my creative writing.
8. I appreciate what Mrs. Fraser and Ms. Ferkel did for this class and I enjoyed being on the computers. I believe that in the future, this class should mainly be a computer class so that we don’t have to always move around. I do believe that we as a group are a very good group of writers with enormous talent. And that by writing and working together we have learned a lot about each other. We learned that others would see us, “in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each one of us is a brain... and an athlete... and a basket case... a princess... and a criminal.” It is not often that students actually sit down and think of how things are in their school. But I do believe that by students not just seeing in their click, or the people they always run with, and not being seen just as jocks or brains or druggies or dorks, but by being seen for what we are, is the best education that society can give to their children. Because we aren’t just one group, we are all of the groups. And we are Kickapoo. Thank you Mrs. Fraser and thank you Ms. Ferkel for helping us see that.
