Normally when I listen to music, I feel the music. I put the lyrics and musical notes together and feel what the author is saying. I do the saame thing with books. I put myself in the expirience to either feel what the main character is saying, or to feel the music and understand the context of it.
My favorite song is “Don’t wanna go home” by Jason Derulo because it is a very upbeat song and puts me in a mood to party. The connection I make with this song is my buddies and I going around town during the summer, music blaring, and having fun.
I use to listen to only country music when I was in elementary school. Then I started hearing other music in school. I then started listening to pop and rap. Since then, I listen to everything except jazz and classical. I mainly listen to country songs with a rock style.
I tend to gravitate towards certain types of music because of my family and friends. I am one of those people who are challenged in everything but school. My friends tend to tell me about new music and I try it out. But I mainly listen to country and that I accredit to my family because they always listened to country as I grew up.
Music is kind of poetry. I agree the lyrics are poetry, but the main music part is just art. Music is just notes, but the lyrics can by poetry. Poetic lyrics normally rhyme, but don’t have to.
